The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation has organized a Diplomats Group Excursion to enable Heads of Diplomatic and Consular Missions as well as Regional and International Organizations stationed in Rwanda visit provinces of Rwanda with the aim of giving them the opportunity to get to know the great achievements and the diversity and beauty of our Country. This program will be arranged yearly and province by province.

This program will start in this year 2009 and is scheduled on 6th July 2009, 2 days after the Liberation Day.

This excursion is very important in terms of diplomacy. It is one of the ways of portraying the good image of Rwanda. It will also serve as means of facilitating those diplomats to be able to attract investors from their respective countries since they will get enough and right package of information about Rwandan products.

The program will allow each province to get an opportunity to demonstrate its great achievements in various domains such as development, economy, social welfare, etc.  It will also be a channel of promoting the province, building and developing cooperation between countries, regional and international organizations and provinces of Rwanda.

In this first up-country excursion, Diplomats will particularly get the opportunity to explore and understand great achievements made by the Western province of Rwanda through government programs. Here we can mention successes of the province through the program of building estates of home (Imidugudu), environmental protection, gira inka / a project designed for distributing heifers to rural communities to alleviate poverty, methane gas project, etc. 

The private sector will also benefit from these visits by marketing their institutions, industries and activities through the Embassies of different countries. In this regard, they may share and learn from experiences of their respective countries
