The Communication and Coordination Unit headed by the Director has been created within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation with the mission of timely communications to all the actors involved in the implementation of the Rwandan foreign policy, particularly the Rwandan govenment, diplomatic missions and other institutions.
Responsibilities of the Director of Information and Communication Unit 1. Plan, Coordinate and Supervise the Unit’s overall activities such as collection, processing and monitoring of information relating to Rwanda’s domestic and foreign policies;
2.Evaluate the implementation of activities and assess whether Key Performance Indicators are followed by the Unit members;
3. Elaborate, Evaluate and Monitor the Ministry’s Media and Communication policy/strategy and ensure the Rwanda’s good image is well represented in both local, international media and other forums;
4. Upon consultation, serves the spokesperson’s role to the Ministry of foreign Affairs & Cooperation;
5. Ensure good internal & external public relations and Communications;
6.Articulate Rwanda’s Foreign Policy to different media organs and other stakeholders.
