Goma — The Summit meeting between the Republic of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) held on 5th – 6th August, 2009. During this Summit, His Excellency Paul KAGAME, President of the Republic of Rwanda, held a tête-à-tête meeting in Goma, DRC, with his Congolese counterpart, His Excellency Joseph KABILA, President of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The summit was preceded by a ministerial meeting of between the two countries at Rubavu on 5th – 6th August 2009, which was meant to prepare the Summit of Heads of States and the next Joint Permanent Commission to be held in Kinshasa later in this year.

The summit was followed by a press conference held in the no man’s land between DRC and Rwanda.
