Preparations for the 4th Ministerial Meeting of FOCAC to be held in Cairo on 7th and 8th November 20
ImageBeijing October 14, 2009 - A Consultative meeting between the Secretariat of the Chinese Follow up Committee of FOCAC and the African Embassies in Beijing met to make preparations for the 4th Ministerial Meeting of FOCAC in Cairo on the 7th and 8th November 2009.
 
FOCAC is the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation first convened in Beijing in 2000 with the view to strengthen the cooperation between China and African countries to jointly meet the challenge of economic globalization and to promote common development.
This consultative meeting held in Beijing preparing the 4th Ministerial Meeting of FOCAC adopted the Sharm el-Sheikh Declaration as it will be presented in Cairo. Discussions on the FOCAC Sharm el-Sheikh Action Plan (2010-2012) are still ongoing.

The FOCAC action plan is adopted for a 2 years period and previous one was the 2007-2009 action plan.

Egypt will host the 4th Ministerial meeting in which different high level authorities will participate. H.E the President of the Republic of Rwanda has been invited by the President of Egypt to take part to the opening ceremony and address the meeting on behalf of the East African Community.
