Amb. MUNYAKAYANZA received Amb. Reda Bibars

ImageYesterday, November 9, 2009, at the Minisrty of Foreign Affairs and cooperation, Amb. MUNYAKAYANZA Eugène Permanent Secretary in the MINAFFET received Amb. REDA Bibars, Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs in charge of Nile Basin Countries  within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Amb. ABEBAS was accompanied by Mahmoud A. Elkhatib, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of Egypt in Rwanda.

In his welcome remarks, Amb. MUNYAKAYANZA praised the existing cordial relations between both countries especially in relation to the recently concluded JPC. He added that it is up to the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries to foster that relation and make the relations more productive for the benefit of the two peoples. 

On his turn, Amb. Reda Bibars reiterated the need for the two ministries to collaborate further to ensure the signed agreements become a practical reality and that nothing should  hamper will of the two countries to cooperate citing the words of President Kagame in Egypt the “the sky should be the limit” in terms of Egypt Rwandan Cooperation. He also emphasized that Egypt is ready to help Rwanda get use of their expertise in various areas especially economic development. Thus, recommended the regular sharing of information on either side regarding the opportunities available for investors.

Amb. Reda Bibars had earlier visited the Minister of Natural Resources and discussed the way forward on the ongoing Nile Basin Initiatives negotiation.

Both parties discussed the way to implement the bilateral agreement signed in a real way to make it productive without waiting for the next JPC.
