Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosts its Annual Retreat
Kigali, 05 March 2017 – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (Minaffet) held its annual retreat at the Kigali Convention Centre. The retreat that was led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Louise Mushikiwabo, brought together Rwandan Ambassadors, High Commissioners and senior staff at Minaffet.
Among many topics that were discussed, Rwandan Ambassadors and senior staff got an overview from the Minister on the cooperation with African countries. The management of Embassies as well as the upcoming presidential elections in August 2017 were discussed with officials from other institutions such as the Ministry of Finance and the National Electoral Commission.
This Minaffet's retreat focused on the need to identify priorities for the Ministry's foreign policy and the necessity of building a common strategic plan for the year 2017.
The retreat ended with resolutions to continue branding and serving well the country at international level. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation's retreat is an annual engagement that allows the minister to interact with all ambassadors and senior staff of the Ministry. They discuss current diplomacy issues and update one another on countries status.
