Minister Nduhungirehe attends 2026 Korea-Africa Foreign Ministers’ Meeting

Seoul, 01 June 2026 - Minister Olivier J.P. Nduhungirehe attended the 2026 Korea-Africa Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, under the theme "Korea-Africa Partnership for Joint Response Amid Global Transformation." 

He participated in Foreign Ministers' session on Joint Responses to Global Challenge-Korea-Africa solidarity alongside delegations from 50 African countries.

In his address, he reaffirmed Rwanda's readiness to continue working closely with the Republic of Korea and all African partners to ensure the effective implementation of the shared commitments and to further strengthen the mutual partnership for future generations. Alongside fellow African Foreign Ministers, Minister Nduhungirehe was received by H.E. Lee Jae-myung, President of the Republic of Korea, on the margins of the 2026 Korea–Africa Foreign Ministers’ Meeting. The discussions focused on strengthening Korea–Africa cooperation and advancing shared priorities.

The Republic of Korea remains one of Rwanda’s key development partners, with cooperation spanning ICT, trade and investment, human resource development, and education.

On the sidelines of the 2026 Korea-Africa Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, Minister Nduhungirehe met with Amb. Cho Hyun, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea.The discussion focused on further deepening bilateral ties and exploring new avenues of cooperation.

He also met with Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Ghana's Minister for Foreign Affairs.  They exchanged views on strengthening the existing relations between Rwanda and Ghana.
