Diplomatic Briefing on Ebola and Rwanda's preparedness to contain Ebola outbreak.

Kigali, 02 August 2019 - The Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Olivier Nduhungirehe, the Minister of Health Dr. Diane Gashumba and World Health Organization (WHO) country representative Dr Kasonde Mwinga briefed members of the Diplomatic Corps based in Kigali on Ebola and Rwanda's preparedness to contain Ebola outbreak.

Rwanda remains Ebola free and the Government of Rwanda is more committed to work with partners to ensure that our citizens are more safer even beyond borders. Rwanda continues to strengthen its preparedness as well as to raise awareness among citizens.

The Government of Rwanda has been in constant contact with Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) counterparts and WHO on how to contain Ebola outbreak. They are in regular discussions on how to double efforts and make sure the citizens of two countries are always in good health and keep enjoying the fruits of good neighborhood, including peaceful and healthy movement of people, goods and services.

People are advised to avoid unnecessary movements to the affected region as Rwandan authorities work hand in hand with DRC authorities and other partners to find a lasting solution to the crisis.

End.
