Foreign Affairs Minister Sezibera pays a working visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt

Cairo, 05 June 2019 - At the invitation of Sameh Shoukry, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Dr. Richard Sezibera, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Rwanda paid a working visit to Cairo, Egypt from 3rd to 4th June 2019 to discuss bilateral cooperation, and common interests in regional and international matters.

The bilateral talks focused on expanding trade, promotion of investments and exploring business to business opportunities; as well as strengthening other mutual sectors including Health, Air transport, Migration and Capacity Building among others. The two Ministers agreed to convene the 3rd Joint Permanent Commission in Kigali during the 4th quarter of this year.

Minister Sezibera also paid a courtesy call to the Minister of Defense of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Gen. Mohamed Zaki, to discuss about the way to strengthen the current Defense and Security cooperation between the two countries. He later met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Egypt Dr. Ali Abel Aal who also plans to effect an official visit to Rwanda in July 2019.

The visit was an opportunity to meet with different Egyptian Investors wishing to establish their companies in Rwanda as well as to interact with Rwandan community living in Egypt, which comprise of approximately 70 Rwandans including students from different Universities in Egypt.
