MINISTER NDUHUNGIREHE CO-CHAIRS SECOND JPCC BETWEEN RWANDA AND BOTSWANA
Gaborone, 05 May 2026 - Minister Olivier J.P. Nduhungirehe and his counterpart, Hon. Phenyo Butale, Botswana’s Minister of International Relations, co-chaired the 2nd Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation (JPCC) between Rwanda and Botswana.
In his remarks, Minister Nduhungirehe highlighted the strong ties between the two countries and underscored the need to deepen bilateral economic cooperation.
Both Ministers welcomed the finalisation of six key instruments signed during the State Visit of H.E. President Paul Kagame to Botswana on 6 May 2026:
1. Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Mutual Visa Abolition for Holders of Diplomatic, Service, Official, and Ordinary / National Passports;
2. Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement;
3. Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASA);
4. MoU on Economic, Trade and Investment;
5. MoU between Botswana Investment and Trade Centre
(BITC) and Rwanda Development Board (RDB);
6. MoU on Cooperation in the field of Health.
