Minister Sezibera attends the Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers’ Meeting in London

London, 10 July 2019 - Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Richard Sezibera participated at the Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers’ Meeting (CFAMM) held at Marlborough House, London, United Kingdom. The meeting was chaired by the UK in its capacity as current chair-in-office.

During the meeting, Foreign Ministers celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Commonwealth and reaffirmed their commitment to the “core values and principles” of the Commonwealth Charter. The text of the affirmation draws on declarations made by Commonwealth leaders through seven decades.

It was the first CFAMM to take place at Marlborough House, the Commonwealth Secretariat’s Headquarters.

While in UK for a two-day working visit, Minister Sezibera attended the Global Conference for Media Freedom and met with Lord Tariq Ahmad of Wimbledon, Minister of State for the Commonwealth and the UN, on the sidelines of the Global Conference for Media Freedom.

Rwanda will host the Commonwealth Heads of State and Government Meeting (CHOGM) in 2020.

End.
