LA POSITION DU CANADA DANS LE CONFLIT DANS L'EST DE LA RDC EST HONTEUSE

Le Rwanda prend note de la déclaration de Affaires mondiales Canada sur la situation dans l'Est de la RDC et trouve inacceptable l’attribution diffamatoire au Rwanda d’atrocités présumées. Nous demanderons des clarifications à ce sujet auprès du gouvernement canadien.
Le Canada ne peut prétendre soutenir les efforts des acteurs régionaux dans le processus de paix tout en attribuant systématiquement toutes les violations au Rwanda, sans tenir le gouvernement de la RDC pour responsable, encourageant la RDC à intensifier ses attaques contre ses propres civils. Cela inclue les bombardements quotidiens et les attaques visant les villages Banyamulenge au Sud-Kivu par les FARDC, le FDLR et les Wazalendo. Le silence du Canada face à ces graves violations des droits humains est inacceptable et honteux.
Les mesures annoncées contre le Rwanda par le Canada ne résoudront pas le conflit. Le Rwanda continuera à travailler avec la région dans le cadre du processus de médiation dirigé par l’Afrique, tout en veillant à sa sécurité nationale.
