Minister Biruta receives copies of credentials of Ambassador-Designate of Japan to Rwanda
Kigali, 19 December 2022 – Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr. Vincent Biruta received copies of credentials of Mr. Isao Fukushima, Ambassador- Designate of Japan to Rwanda.
This year marks the 60th Anniversary of Rwanda and Japan diplomatic relations established in July 1962. Rwanda opened its Embassy in Tokyo in 1979 followed much later by the opening of the Japanese Embassy in Kigali in January 2010.
Japan’s development cooperation with Rwanda is made through concessional loans, grants and technical support. Currently, the cooperation covers a range of sectors including ICT, education, agriculture, capacity building, trade, investments, energy, transportation, water and sanitation among others.
