Minister Biruta receives outgoing ambassador of Ethiopia to Rwanda

Kigali, 6 February 2023 – Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Vincent Biruta received Amb. Dada Debele, the outgoing Ambassador of Ethiopia to Rwanda. They exchanged views on the existing bilateral relations between the two countries.

Rwanda and Ethiopia have strong relations and cooperation in several sectors. In 2012, both countries signed three agreements on General Cooperation and a Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership and the establishment of a Joint Permanent/Ministerial Commission (JPC/JMC).

Thereafter, 20 agreements and MoUs were signed during the 1st and 2nd JMC/JPC held in Kigali, respectively in 2012 and 2017.  Through Green Legacy Initiative, Ethiopian delegation came to Rwanda and participated in the tree planting Umuganda in December 2022.
