MINISTER NDUHUNGIREHE VISITS SOUTH SUDAN
Juba, 15-17 January 2025 – Minister Olivier J.P. Nduhungirehe visited Juba, South Sudan, as part of a Ministerial delegation representing the African Union High-Level Ad Hoc Committee for South Sudan (C5).
The C5, a special initiative established in 2015 by the African Union Commission, plays a crucial role in supporting ongoing mediation efforts to bring lasting peace and stability to South Sudan. This esteemed Committee is composed of five African countries: South Africa (Chair), Algeria, Nigeria, Chad, and Rwanda.
During his visit, Minister Nduhungirehe held productive meetings with high-ranking officials from South Sudan, including His Excellency Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of South Sudan, and Dr. Riek Machar, the First Vice President of South Sudan.
Minister Nduhungirehe also engaged with Hon. Ramadan Goc, South Sudan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as members of the diplomatic community and other partners.
These discussions focused on further strengthening both bilateral and multilateral ties, as well as advancing the ongoing peace process in South Sudan.
