Abu Dhabi, 10 December 2022 - Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in charge of East African Community, Prof. Nshuti Manasseh attended the 15th Edition of the World Policy Conference taking place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates from 9th – 11th December 2022.

He participated in a plenary session on “The Sahel and West Africa: Geopolitics and Geo-economics”, where he called for the international community to look for sustainable solutions that address root causes of conflicts which include poor governance, service delivery and socio-economic challenges.

Speaking on Rwanda’s commitment to peace and security efforts in Sahel and the whole African continent, he said that Rwanda supports peace interventions through multilateral and bilateral arrangements.

“From the experience of Rwanda’s military support in Mozambique and Central African Republic, it’s proven that bilateral arrangements complement multilateral interventions in a better way to produce timely results,” he said.

Estelle Youssouffa, Member of Parliament for Mayotte (a French territory at five hundred kilometers from Cabo Delgado) appreciated Rwanda’s intervention in Mozambique.

“I’d like to thank Minister Manasseh, but above all, appreciate the action of Rwanda. Indeed, the situation is stabilized. We who live five hundred kilometers from this hotbed, we thank you,” she emphasized.

More than 200 international leading figures attended the World Policy Conference.
