Kigali, 6-8 August 2023 - H.E. Andry Rajoelina, President of the Republic of Madagascar, visited Rwanda. On his arrival at Kigali International Airport, he was received by Vincent Biruta, Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Watch here.

H.E. President Kagame received his counterpart President Rajoelina at Urugwiro Village where they held a tête-à-tête discussion on the status of bilateral cooperation between Rwanda and Madagascar and delivered remarks.

“For both our countries, trade and investment are important drivers of economic growth. A more connected Africa is undoubtedly a more prosperous Africa. In recent years, Rwanda and Madagascar have been hit by extreme weather events. This has affected livelihoods, and damaged biodiversity and infrastructure. We must share expertise, and learn from each other’s experiences,” President Kagame delivering a press statement. Watch here.

During this visit, various agreements, including an MoU on Multisecterial Economic Cooperation were signed. Watch the signing ceremony here.
