RWANDA AND GEORGIA COMMIT TO FURTHER STRENGTHENING BILATERAL TIES
Kigali, 17 April 2024 – The Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Clementine Mukeka received a Georgian delegation for bilateral consultations. The delegation was headed by Ambassador Zurab Aleksidze, Director of the Department of Middle East and Africa in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. Together, they signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) on Political Consultations and Diplomatic Training.
Georgia and Rwanda signed a protocol on the establishment of diplomatic and consular relations in 2011. In September 2021, Hon. Vincent Biruta, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Rwanda, met with H.E. David Zalkaliani, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia in New York at the 76th session of the UN General Assembly to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation.
