Rwanda and Republic of Guinea to elevate cooperation to greater heights

Kigali, 19 December 2023 - Minister of State Kabarebe James received H.E. Soumaila Savané, Ambassador of the Republic of Guinea to Rwanda. They discussed ways to strengthen the existing bilateral relations and elevate cooperation between the two countries to greater heights.

Both countries are represented by resident missions. Bilateral relations gained momentum in March 2016 when President of Republic of Rwanda, Paul Kagame visited Guinea and met with his counterpart.

During the visit, the following memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and agreements were signed: Framework Cooperation Agreement, Agreement for regular diplomatic consultation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs; Visa Waiver Agreement for holders of diplomatic, service, or official passports, and issuance of visas at entry points to the territory for holders of ordinary passports, Cooperation Agreement in the fields of Health and Medical Sciences, MoU for Cooperation in the fields of development planning and International Cooperation, MoU for Cooperation in the field of the Environment and the Management of Natural Resources; and a Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASA).
