Rwanda observes International Holocaust Remembrance Day
Kigali, 27 January 2026 - Minister Olivier J. P. Nduhungirehe joined the Embassy of the State of Israel in Rwanda and the Embassy of Germany in Rwanda to observe the International Day in memory of the victims of the Holocaust, the ceremony that took place at the Kigali Genocide Memorial.
Speaking during the commemoration, Minister Nduhungirehe underscored the enduring responsibility of remembrance and vigilance against intolerance, noting:
“This commemoration is a reminder of one of the darkest chapters in human history. It invites us to remember those who lost their lives to intolerance, and reflect on the consequences of hatred, discrimination, and indifference.”
